Our Very First...

...home-grown tomato! Thank you, Goodfellow's, for the tomato plant! That was seriously the best tasting tomato I've ever had!

Fun at the Beach

This past Saturday, we went to the beach! While Greg was in school, we said we wanted to be back on the east coast to be close to the beach. But actually making that happen with three kids is hard to do...and a little intimidating.

BUT, we packed everyone up on Saturday because the weather was supposed to be great. The drive to the beach is only about 45 minutes from our house and parking is free. We went to the same beach we used to go to when we lived here the first time. The last time we were there, I was 8 months pregnant with our first, so it was quite a change this time!

In years past, Hunter has always been really intimidated by the water and just wanted to play in the sand. The first hour and a half proved to be the same.

(Sorry all the pictures are cloudy. I think there was something on my lense)

We attempted to build a sand castle...
and attempted to bury Hunter in the sand.
Kylee enjoyed putting sand from one shovel to another...
Fun, right?!

This video very accurately represents how she played in the sand also...

After a while, Hunter warmed up to the water and played in it with us. I took him in the shallow part and we splashed around, and then Greg picked him up and they went in deeper. He had so much fun with the waves, Greg actually said he wanted to go deeper than Greg could handle. Hunter is always extremely cautious about new things but I'm glad he warmed up to the waves and trusted mommy and daddy when we said we wouldn't let anything happen to him.

Gunnar had a great time too.

 I love him so much!
Kylee was sleeping before we got out to the main road,
And Hunter wasn't far behind her!

It was such a fun family day. I can't wait to do it again!

Oohrah!

Month 1 and 2

Again, because I'm behind, I'm combining a couple posts.

Unfortunately, the idea that I'm about to show you is not my own. I'm not creative enough to come up with the great idea! But I am good enough to do it myself and pretend I came up with it...except that I just told you I didn't.

Anyway, I will be taking a photo of Gunnar at every "month birthday." (Is that a real phrase?) I didn't decide to do it until he was a couple of weeks old so I don't have a newborn photo.

Here's month 1 though...
 And here is month 2...
We just went for his 2 month check up yesterday. He is up to 14 lbs 2 oz and is 25 inches long. He's momma's healthy, very big boy!

He is such a sweet baby. His smiles melt my heart and he is so happy and content all the time. Thank you, Lord, for this special baby boy!

Mother's and Father's Day

I'm a bit behind on blogging, but here is a Mother's and Father's day update...

Here is a picture of me with each of my precious babies taken on Mother's day.

Hunter is a stinker with cooperating for photos. Here's the silly pictures it took to get the smile out of him.

He's my goofy boy!

I got a bouquet of flowers for the day, handmade by the family. I absolutely LOVE them and still have them out. This will definitely be a gift I'll save forever. Hunter's flower shape was designed by himself. :)

A couple from church was so generous and gave us a gift certificate for the Outback, so we were able to have a nice lunch after church that required no cleanup from myself. That was nice! On our way back to church that evening, Hunter ended up getting sick in the truck, so we never made it to evening service. I got sick later that evening too. Thankfully, no one else got sick and we recovered fine. Even with the sickness, I had a very good Mother's day spent with my four favorite people!

For Father's day, I made Greg a special meal after church. He love love loves steak and I never buy it because of the cost, but I had some for his day. Just as he lifted up the first steak to place on the barbecue, the propane ran out! At least it didn't happen halfway through cooking! I ended up making them in the toaster oven, haha! Not as good as grilled, but considering the fact that I've never cooked a steak before, let alone in a toaster oven, they weren't too bad. For dessert, I made cheesecake. (One of Greg's favorite desserts!) We spent the afternoon relaxing, and thankfully, no one got sick for Father's day!

For his gift, I took pictures of each of the kids.

And had them printed and glued on card stock. Thanks to Jenny, I laminated it for durability. Here's the finished product.

Becuase he works in a garage-type environment, he never wants to take anything too nice to work. That eliminates frames of the kids because he doesn't want to accidentally break them. So I wanted to make him something that he could take to display, but it wasn't too nice that it would cost a lot to replace if needed. Thankfully, the kids cooperated very well, so I think it turned out quite nicely!

Silly me didn't get pictures of the kids with daddy...oops!

I'm so thankful for Gregory. He is a wonderful daddy and our babies adore him. I'm so thankful and proud to be his wife.

Night One

Well, we made the switch for the older kids!

We were originally going to switch Kylee to a toddler bed in her own room and let her get used to that first. But after Greg had the crib disassembled, he realized we were missing all the screws for the bed. So we decided to reassemble the crib in Hunter's room, and we'll let them get used to sharing a room before she switches.

Going to sleep shouldn't be a problem...but hopefully our up-with-the-sun firstborn doesn't wake his sister before she's ready to be up!
