New Bern Update

I have been terrible...I know. I was such a busy blogger the couple months leading up to our move, and now I have just fallen off the face of the earth!

It's amazing that we're closing in on 2 months already since we moved...it's gone by SO fast. And to think that the crazy time of us waiting on a job was 2 months, and that felt like an eternity!

We are just so busy now that we're here. Sundays consist of morning and evening service, choir practice for me, and "Being a Success" class for Greg and me(which is our church's membership class). I try to sneak in a nap somewhere in there, but it doesn't always happen. We have co-op for homeschoolers during the week, football practice, Wednesday night church, and football games on the weekends. Compared to Virginia where we didn't have anything, we have quite a busy schedule here! And I'm still trying to figure it all out amidst the morning sickness. But praise God, that has been better the past couple days. Hopefully it's on its way out!

Anyway, I LOVE being back here. Downtown New Bern is set on the water, and when you're driving on the highway, you can look over the water towards downtown. Every time I see it, I just think, "Thank you, Lord, for bringing us back here."

We live about 10 minutes from downtown, but because New Bern is so quaint and small, we're on the outskirts of town.

Our house...let me tell you about our house. It (of course) fell into place for renting it once we found it, and our landlords are WONDERFUL. They sincerely care about taking care of their property but let us make little changes to make it our home. We built a fire pit in the backyard and can have s'mores whenever we want! :)

It's situated on half an acre, with a big two-car-garage for Greg to work in. Our backyard backs up to a horse ranch. I don't think I'll ever tire of hearing the horses "nay" when we have our windows open.

As far as the house's location, that couldn't be much better either. It takes Greg 4 minutes to get to work. He has to go through one stop sign and he's there. Because of this and the hour for lunch he gets, he's been able to come home everyday and we get that extra time with him. Church is only 6 minutes away in the opposite direction, and we don't go through any traffic lights for that trip either.

This house is definitely where God wanted us, and we really like it here. I will post pictures of the interior soon for those interested! Please forgive me for my lack of blogging!
